Thank you for visiting our website. The goal of Faith builders is to build men in their faith and to give them a solid Biblical base for life. The study of Scripture is essential for growth as a Christian. We do not assume that we should take the place of a Bible believing church, nor should we be in competition with churches in our area. There is something very special that happens at a men’s Bible Study. The dynamics of men getting together to pray, read and to study God’s Word is unique in a culture that has all but removed God from its daily life.

As a young man growing up in Springfield, Ma, I had a limited religious background. My parents did not have any interest in a spiritual life of any type. I basically grew up knowing that there was a God out there but either I was to busy for Him or he was to busy for me. I set out with a plan that would give me security through a good career, a network of people and a family. I then set about obtaining each of those goals in my own way. The career that I had chosen failed in a few years, the network of people I chose began to lead me in a direction that was devastating, and I failed in my pursuit of being a good family man. By the time I had reached my mid thirties I had failed at all three of those goals.

At that time I realized that there was more to life than what I had experienced. Through a series of event in my life, I began to ask questions like: Is this all there is to life? What purpose was I put on this earth? Nagging questions that demanded answers, they would not let me rest until they were answered. In a matter of months I found that I had been surrounded by several new friends that were Christians. In January of 1980 I took what I considered a bold step. I asked Jesus Christ into my life, to become my savior and to help me to change.

He answered that prayer immediately. I found that career and security that comes with money were no longer enough to sustain me. I began to attend church. I grew in my faith and my commitment to Jesus. The church that I attended did not have a men’s group and though I could speak to the Pastor, there were some subjects that I did not want to discuss.

I then met Sam Nompleggi, who was a staff member of Campus Crusade for Christ, who led a men’s Bible Study in Springfield. At Sam’s encouragement I began to attend the Springfield Businessmen’s Bible Study. I found that the study centered on Men’s issues and the Biblical perspective in our daily lives. The studies focused on application of Biblical truths. The study, fellowship and commitment to Christ have made a significant difference in my life. The study has become an oasis that has sustained me over these many years and has strengthened my walk on a daily basis.
